USA Geography 101

usa geography

In a past lesson, the #1 Tip to Sounding Well Traveled, we began an overview of geography and how important it is for sounding both well traveled and cultured, not to mention gaining a better understanding of the world around us.

As the United Sates is larger than the average country I’ve decided to devote an entire lesson solely to US geography. By familiarizing ourselves with the names of each state and where they’re situated we’ll have a far better understanding of how the country is made up.

Now if you’re anything like me you may tend to have a general idea when it comes to the coasts of the country, but when you start going inland… well it becomes a bit muddled. This is why I want you to particularly focus on the middle states as these are the ones most often confused.

Please hover over the map to learn the geographical location of each state. You will also find the full list of states along with their capitals below.

I urge you to thoroughly learn and memorize this information as it’s essential for a Lady to be aware of the world around her. USA geography will take you one step closer.

HOMEWORK: Which state would you most like to visit and why? Tell us in the comments below! I would  love to visit New Mexico.
